To the Parents, Guardians, and Students of Marshfield High School

This is to inform you that water testing for lead has been completed as of February 18, 2026. The health and safety of our students and staff remain our highest priority, and we will continue to make sure that our facilities are a healthy and safe environment for all.

As part of our Healthy and Safe Schools plan, the district developed a plan to test for lead in all drinking water, food preparation and other outlets where students and staff get water for drinking and food preparation, at least once every 6 years. The state required action level in drinking water samples is 15 parts per billion (ppb). When a lead sample is detected at or above this level, we take immediate steps to address the source of lead to protect students and staff. All fixtures that tested high, but lower than the required action level, will be proactively replaced over the summer of 2026.

  • Between May 29, 2025 and June 11, 2025, we tested 176 water fixtures used for drinking or food preparation for lead throughout the MHS campus, including Pete Susick Stadium.

  • The following fixtures tested above the action level and were immediately taken out of service:

  • Room 502 (Pirate Hall) East wall south faucet - remediation was replacing the faucet.

  • Room 504 (PH) West wall south faucet - remediation was replacing the faucet.

  • Room 42 (Main building) Southeast faucet - remediation was replacing the faucet.

  • Drinking fountain in the basement hall of the Main building - remediation was replacing the drinking fountain with a new water bottle filling station.

  • Main gym drinking fountain next to concessions - remediation was removing the drinking fountain and capping the supply line (new water bottle filling station nearby).

  • Main gym south girl's restroom left and right faucets - remediation was replacing the faucets.

  • Main gym east girl's restroom left and right faucets - remediation was replacing the faucets.

  • Main gym east boy's restroom left and right faucets - remediation was replacing the faucets.

  • Main gym boy's locker room drinking fountain - remediation was removing the drinking fountain and capping off the supply (new water bottle filling station nearby).

  • Stadium boy's restroom left and right faucets - remediation was replacing the faucets.

  • Stadium girl's restroom middle and right faucets - remediation was replacing the angle stop valves, replacing the faucets, and installing an ANSI certified lead filter on each one.

  • The testing results are available by clicking the link below.
