MHS Freshmen attend SWOCC's TRiO Upward Bound and Talent Search

We had an amazing turn out from the 13 schools that SWOCC's TRiO Upward Bound and Talent Search serve. The 9th graders who attended took part in 3 different leadership and team building workshops. They were able to ask questions about prepping for college and surviving high school from our expert high school senior panel. They also learned to work as a group to walk on wooden skis, and I can promise, it is hard! We also were happy to welcome Brent Florendo, who is a Native American musician, singer and story teller. He blew the students minds with some amazing saxophone skills and taught them to work as a team to play the drums in unison. Overall it was such a great experience, and I loved spending the day with our students. TRiO Works!
